According to the latest Basic Life Support ECC guidelines, the new approach is CAB: Circulation (compressions), Airway, and Breathing. This change was made to reflect the importance of compressions in cardiac arrest. Getting the blood flowing is more important than establishing an airway or administering rescue breathing.
